At Paine Field, hundreds of Boeing employees, an observer plane, and the journalists perpetuate the first flight Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental which comes with orange, red and white color. One of the new technologies applied in the plane is Boeing wing design using computational fluid dynamics.
The technology makes the wing aerodynamic function better and allows the aircraft able to run fast when it will take off. The plane, piloted Pilot Mark Feuerstein and Paul Stemer is planned to be flying a few hours and returned to the Boeing Field hangar in Seattle in the afternoon.
For years, Boeing has been working on aircraft which is considered environmentally friendly. Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental can save 16 percent fuel than other Boeing aircraft and carry 467 passengers in three classes. Reach this plane 8,000 nautical miles, while its cargo version has a range as far as 4390 nautical miles. 747-8 Intercontinental wingspan of 224 feet 7 inches long and 250 feet 2 inches.
Previously, Boeing has launched the 747-8 Freighter jumbo jet on February 8 last year and was followed by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
