Lancer Skin Care on Oprah

On Wednesday, April 27, 2011, Oprah featured the new book 20 Years Younger: Look Younger, Feel Younger, Be Younger!, written by her long time “soul mate” Bob Greene and Dr. Harold A. Lancer, creator of a line of skin care products that Oprah raved about.

Well it seems that Dr. Lancer’s website team wasn’t ready for the surge of buying frenzy that one Oprah mention can bring — because it has been down ever since her showed aired.

Where to buy Lancer RX skin care line online on the Internet?

This reporter even called the Lancer Dermatology Bevery Hills office in California in search of Lancer Rx products to buy online, however, when I pressed zero to speak to the receptionist, I could only leave a message with my name and contact information hoping for more information.

Update: The Dr. Lancer skincare products featured on Oprah are now available on the Nordstrom website to buy online.

The only website besides Dr. Lancer’s pitching the Lancer Rx or “Lancer Method” of exfoliating, cleansing and moisturizing products was one called Derm Store on their own site and on Amazon — but it says “discontinued” beneath the Lancer skin care products and does a kind of bait-and-switch “if you like Lancer products, here’s a similar and cheaper version” of some different brand.

Yes, a good sales technique, but it is not the products that Oprah raved so much about that Steadman gave her skin kudos and Bob Greene called her radiant without make up.

That Oprah show about looking 20 years younger caused this reporter to pull out her Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System brush in the tub and hold it against some scrubby soap and at least get back to exfoliation and then moisturizing. Calls to Dr. Lancer’s office were not immediately returned to this Examiner journalist. Updates to follow.
