ESPN's Vice President of Communications Josh Krulewitz tweeted Friday afternoon, "Erin Andrews leaving ESPN. She did great work for us and we made an aggressive offer to keep her. We wish her the best on her next chapter."

Erin Andrews is leaving ESPN after eight years.

Erin Andrews’ contract with ESPN expires at the end of this month, and the prevailing thought has been that she would re-sign with the network. However, ESPN dropped the news late today that Andrews will not be returning.

Sports Illustrated reports that FOX Sports is actively courting Andrews to take on a prominent role in their college football coverage in 2012. FOX declined to comment, and Andrews' rep says, "We are not in a position to discuss Erin's next career move."

Most believe she'll be working on the network's first regular-season college football coverage in Fall 2012.

Her Wikipedia page has already been updated, perhaps prematurely, that Fox Sports has scooped its next star.
