BlackBerry 10 Ready to Challenge iPhone & Android

Research in Motion (RIM) claims their new software generation are ready to compete with its rivals, especially iPhone and Android. It was stated CEO of RIM, Thorsten Heins, in the event BB Devcon Europe.

Canadian vendor is losing significant market share from the Android and Apple. But they hope the next generation of the BlackBerry 10 OS QNX-based will be able to talk a lot. BlackBerry 10 handsets planned to release this year.

"Smartphone market is still new and there is a huge opportunity for us, both in consumer and business sectors," said Heins, in front of around 2,000 developers who attended the BB Devcon.

To the developer, Heins promised RIM will hear their opinions and will continue to innovate. He's promising technology on the BlackBerry 10 will bring a new standard for home, car, smartphones and tablets.

"It takes time for BlackBerry for the transition to a QNX-based operating system, but if it is ready, this software will provide an exciting experience for consumers," argued Kevin Michaluk, founder of the website.

"IOS Apple is well developed, but this time actually became the oldest operating system, older than Android, webOS, Windows Phone, while BlackBerry 10 is the latest mobile platform," added Kevin.

As quoted by Reuters on Thursday (02.09.2012), Heins not tell when exactly a BlackBerry 10 handset is introduced. But he promised in 2012, they will launch it to the public.
