Tremors a brain disorder that makes the hand always shaking, especially while doing the activity and will decrease when a hand rested. Unwanted vibration can occur also in the head, face and sometimes feet.
"Essential Tremor can cause significant stress and of course embarrassing," said Dr Nicholas Silver, a neurologist from the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery, as quoted from Indiavision, Wednesday (01/04/2012).
A study at the U.S. National Institutes of Health shows that alcohol vapor in the perfume effective enough to overcome the disorder. Said to be very minimal side effects, because different types of alcoholic liquor and who obviously do not need to be taken.
Type of alcohol used in perfume is octanol, which is a type of alcohol is safer than ethanol in liquor. Octanol said to be more secure because it only needs to be used in low doses to provide the same effect with ethanol.
In a previous study, octanol proved effective enough to relieve tremor or trembling sensation in the hand due to neurological disorders in the brain. But in the study, octanol should be drink even with very low dose which is 1 mg per 1 kg of body weight.
Well, in this latest study the scientists found that octanol does not need to drink to produce an anti-tremor effect. Octanol vapor inhaled enough, so that the side effects get smaller because not much is absorbed into the blood circulation.
In the fragrance products, especially perfumes, octanol used as a solvent as well as reinforcing the scent. Its form colorless liquid, but are volatile or highly volatile as well as other types of alcohol.
