Anticipation for the final chapter in the epic film series reaches a fever pitch with tonight’s midnight screenings of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.”Local Harry Potter fans have made tickets to tonight's premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 disappear.

Workers at Regal Cinemas at Mayfaire say all 15 theaters at are sold out at for the midnight showings, including the 3D screening. They say tickets to 13 theaters sold out quickly went they went on sale several weeks ago. Tickets to two more theaters added this week sold out within a couple of days.

The 2:45 a.m. show is also sold out, but there are tickets available for both the 2D and 3D showings at 3 a.m.Even if you have tickets, you may want to get there early. A manager said the first seating for the midnight shows starts at 7 p.m.


Harry Potter PremiereThere are still some tickets offered at Carmike Cinema 16 off Market Street in Wilmington. As said by Fandango.com, 13 showings begin just after midnight are sold out, as well as 10 screens in 2D and two in 3D. Tickets keep on, though for three shows after midnight in 3D.

The theater has had lots of calls from people wanting to purchase advance tickets, particularly for tonight’s showings.
“We’ve sold more advance tickets for this than for any midnight show since we reopened as Atlas Cinemas three years ago,” Bohaty said.

Harry Potter mania is so big that Regal Cinemas Crocker Park Stadium 16 theater in Westlake added a 3 a.m. screening after its scheduled midnight showing tonight.

The following local theaters have midnight shows for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2”:

Apollo Theater, 19 E. College St., Oberlin.

Regal Cobblestone Square 20, 5500 Cobblestone Drive, Elyria.

Harry Potter fans will have to apparate out of Lexington to catch the premiere of "Deathly Hallows: Part 2," which opens at midnight in many U.S. theaters.
